I’m from Santa Fe, New Mexico and grew up driving motorcycles out in the desert and filming sketches with friends. I came to Los Angeles in 2009 to study at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where I discovered that filmmaking was an effortless, predictable, and reliable career trajectory. I’m kidding.
Humor is my drug of choice. Wait, actually caffeine is my drug of choice. Wait, …no I’m sticking with caffeine. I genuinely believe humor can have great emotional depth and lift people up. Too much? You’re too much.
To pay for my caffeine habit I direct social media and advertising campaigns which have accumulated billions of views. I’ve worked with everyone from Verizon to Hello Kitty. Balancing creativity and commerce is a dark art which I’ve been practicing for over a decade.
I’m inspired by the writers Sam Wasson, Miranda July, David Sedaris, and Alexander Payne. I went to law school immediately following film school – so if you’re wondering what my most underutilized skill is, there’s your answer. The 1975 is my soundtrack to cooking dinner and I like to tote a 35mm camera around with me. I love audiobooks and feel the most alive when I’m working on a scene with actors.
Recently I wrote and directed the short films “Carl the Exorcist” and “We Have Notes” which have won awards at festivals all over the world, check them out.
Currently, I’m developing several feature films and seeking production partners with a spare one or two million dollars and a dream of an executive producer credit. Reach out and I’ll send you the loglines!
